Most Chinese know the story of mythological Chang'e. It's a story about a woman who takes an immorality pill and flies to the moon. The story is s0 popular that people can't hear the word Chang'e without thinking of romantic images of a moon goddess.

For this reason, China's mission to the moon was calling for a strong female figure. Therefore, pictures of a 24-year-old female space commander have gone viral on Chinese social media for her work on the Chang'e-5 Moon exploration programme with comments about how she is a "frontline soklier in the field of aerospace" that young Chinese can look up to.

Ms Zhou, 24-year-old lady of the Tujia ethnic group, is China's youngest ever space commander. She was involved in the successful launch of the Chang'e-5 lunar probe on 24 November, in charge of the rocket connector system, described as a key role.

In Wenchang space launch site, though she is only 1.58 meters tall and looks "mini", she is called "Big Sister" for her powerful core and energy. Since senior high, she has dreamed! of being a member of a space research team. In a working space with no air conditioning and narrow space to accommodate only three people, she worked for 60 days until the completion of "the Long March 5 rocket goes around" battle.

With almost all big employers in the United States now using artificial intelligence (Al) and automation in their hiring processes, the public is considering some urgent questions: How can you prevent discrimination in hiring when a machine is keeping the discrimination? What kind of methods might help?

Some 83% of employers, including 99% of Fortune 500 companies, now use some form of automated tools as part of their hiring process, said the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC) chairwoman Charlotte Burrows at a hearing on Tuesday. She said everyone needs to speak up on the debate over these technologies. The risks are simply too high to leave this topic just to the experts.

Last year, the EEOC issued some guidance around the use of cutting-edge hiring tools, noting many of their shortcomings. The agency found that resume(简历)scanners that prioritize keywords and programs that evaluate a candidate's facial expressions and speech patterns in video interviews can create discrimination. Take, for example, a video interview that analyzes an applicant's speech patterns to determine their ability to solve problems. A person with a speech problem might score low and automatically be screened out. The problem will be for the EEOC to root out discrimination― stop it from taking place.

The EEOC is considering the most appropriate ways to handle the problem. It's agreed that inspections are necessary to ensure that the software used by companies avoids intentional or unintentional discrimination. But who would conduct those inspections is a more challenging question. Each option presents risks, Burrows pointed out. A third party may turn a blind eye to its clients, while a government-led inspection could potentially stop innovation.

In previous remarks, Burrows has noted the great potential that AI decision-making tools have to improve the lives of Americans, but only when used properly. "We must work to ensure that these new technologies do not become a high-tech pathway to discrimination," she said.

(1) What does Burrows suggest people do? A. Make their own voice heard. B. Follow the experts' suggestions. C. Stop using AI in hiring processes. D. Watch debates about technologies.
(2) How might programs in video interviews select employees? A. By scanning keywords. B. By evaluating resumes. C. By analyzing personalities. D. By interpreting speech patterns
(3) What is a possible consequence of third-party inspections? A. High expense. B. Unfair results. C. Age discrimination. D. Innovation interruption.
(4) What is Burrows's attitude to AI decision-making tools? A. Favourable. B. Disapproving. C. Objective. D. Doubtful.

Despite mental health being everywhere and its cost on overall well-being and social development, we have been guilty of dragging our feet, both in the sense of acknowledging the causes and facing the consequences of mental health problems, as well as a societal commitment to addressing them. For instance, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that worldwide governments spend less than 2% of their total health budget on mental health.

But there is hope that the tide may be turning in how we deal with mental health. And that hope resides in Generation Z (born during the mid-to-late 1990s and early 2010s). Generation Z have a different way of approaching well-being and mental health than other previous generations.

Unlike the previous generations, Generation Z are more confident and willing to acknowledge and activate the connection between well-being and mental health. Seeing mental health issues as a natural part of life, something to be faced head-on, like a physical illness, and in the face of them, balance is more likely to be restored: a fruitful solution that results from open and frank discussions with family and friends, sharing or accessing advice on social media. They are also more likely to be health-aware, engage in health-promoting activities and adopt a healthy lifestyle. And while Generation Z are also active healthy eaters, they seek solutions to the environmental impact of food production and more information on how food choice is linked to mental health.

On the work front, they are not shy to press employers for workloads and work-life balance that reduces stress, or to take mental health days to nurture(培养) well-being and prevent the oncoming of more serious mental health problems. Perhaps, because youths suffer disproportionately from mental health issues, they are more likely to be open and talk about them, as well as to seek help.

Historically, the private and public discussions around mental health have been limited, while Generation Z are more active in strengthening, protecting and restoring it. And this shift in the approach indicates well for how society faces mental health issues in the future, especially as Generation Z gain positions of economic and political power.

(1) What can we learn about mental health problems from paragraph 1? A. They need more attention and investment. B. They are acknowledged and easy to address. C. They have become the top concerns for WHO. D. They have little to do with social development.
(2) What is the attitude of Generation Z towards mental health problems? A. Curious. B. Positive. C. Tolerant. D. Casual.
(3) What do Generation Z tend to do in their work to keep mentally healthy? A. Handle workloads alone. B. Let life make way for work. C. Reject stressful work arrangements. D. Argue with their employers for higher wages.
(4) What is the best title for the text? A. Solving Generation Z's Mental Problems B. Changing Our Approach to Mental Health C. Health Budget—the Key to Mental Health D. Mental Health—the First Killer of Mankind
