A year ago, my wife and I sold one of our cars and replaced it with an e-bike. I knew that passenger vehicles are responsible for much of our greenhouse-gas emissions. I also knew that electric cars were an imperfect fix. Though they're responsible for less carbon pollution than gas cars, their supply chain is carbon intensive. But an e-bike's comparatively tiny battery means less electricity, fewer emissions and fewer resources. E-bikes are clearly better for the planet than cars of any kind.

But I also viewed getting rid of my car as a sacrifice. I live in Colorado; e-biking would mean freezing in winter and sweating in summer. It was the right thing to do, I thought, but it was not going to be fun.

I was very wrong. The first thing I noticed was the savings. Between car payments, insurance, maintenance (保养), and gas, a car-centered lifestyle is expensive. I predict that we'll save about $50,000 over the next five years by selling our car.

The actual experience of riding to work each day over the past year has been equally surprising. In winter, I wear gloves, warm socks, a thick cap, and a ski jacket when I ride, and I am almost never too cold. In summer, I didn't break a sweat. I just used the throttle (油门), sat back, and enjoyed my ride.

I arrived to work a little more lighthearted for having spent the morning in fresh air rather than traffic. I jumped on my bike after a stressful day at work and rode home down a street edged with changing fall leaves. I felt more connected to the physical environment around me than I had when I'd traveled the same route surrounded by metal and glass.

(1) Why did the author change a car for an e-bike? A. He wanted to do something good for environment. B. He thought that e-bikes would replace gas vehicles. C. He couldn't afford the expensive transportation costs. D. He believed e-bike's supply chain was environment-friendly.
(2)  What did the author think he would sacrifice for the e-biking? A. The traffic safety. B. The traffic comfort. C. The traffic economy. D. The traffic convenience.
(3) What is the author's feeling about having ridden an e-bike for a year? A. Tolerant. B. Unexpected. C. Conservative. D. Compromising.
(4) What is the best title for the text? A. Changes Brought by an E-bike B. My Green Life for the Last Year C. The Replacement for Gas Vehicles D. Comparation Between Cars and E-bikes

Perfectly situated on the Gulf of Mexico, in southwest Florida, Naples is well known and loved for not only its beautiful beaches and blue water, but also all of the family-friendly activities and outdoor fun. Here are the four best beaches in Naples.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

This grand state park offers breathtaking Gulf of Mexico views. It is also a home for an incredible diversity of wildlife including sea turtles and many different birds. If you have courage and a sense of wonder, you might even dive into the water and swim with dolphins! Visit early, especially in the busy tourist seasons, to avoid crowds and find a parking spot.

Vanderbilt Beach Park

It is perfect for little ones who love to play in the sand, build sandcastles, and cool off in the gentle waves. With easy access to many lovely hotels as well as shopping and restaurants, this beach is fun for bird watching, paddleboarding, and swimming. Free life jackets are available for little ones. The best time to visit, however, is sunset — arrive early to get a fantastic viewing spot.

Clam Pass Beach

It is family-friendly with three miles of sugary sand and calm water. The long boardwalk and nature trail (路线) are a bit of an effort to be sure, but most folks love the adventurous experience. It's beautiful on either side of the raised wooden path and if you look closely, you can spot butterflies, coastal birds, and other wildlife hiding in the forests. Seashell hunters should arrive early for the best find.

Keewaydin Island Beach

Off the coast of Naples, Keewaydin Island can only be accessed by boat. From wild pigs to bobcats, white-tailed deer, tortoises, and iguanas, there's much to see here on this island that is mostly undeveloped. The sightseeing boat tour leaves from Naples or Marco Island. It's worth noting, however, that there are no public bathroom facilities.

(1) Which is the best destination for a family with a 2-year-old kid? A. Keewaydin Island Beach. B. Clam Pass Beach. C. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. D. Vanderbilt Beach Park.
(2) What is unique to Keewaydin Island Beach? A. Wildlife observation. B. Sunset Admiration. C. The boat tour. D. The nature trail.
(3) Where is the text probably taken from? A. A biology textbook. B. A travel brochure. C. An academic paper. D. A holiday plan.

"Who loves pizza?" is a question you almost never have to ask an American. A better question might be "Who doesn't love pizza?" Now, there is a place for all pizza lovers to gather: the newly-opened Museum of Pizza. It can be found in America's pizza capital — New York City.

A company called Nameless Network came up with the idea for the museum, known as "MoPi" for short. "It's often that the simplest ideas are the best. The company used the popularity o fpizza as a way to get people "looking at art and hearing about history in a different way," said Alexandra Serio, who is with Nameless Network. Many kinds of artists were asked to create art works about pizza. They, in turn, provided large photographs, sculptures and huge installations. So far, the museum has had lots of visitors. More than 6,000 people came through the door when it opened this month.

Visitors seem to love MoPi's bright colors, which makes it perfect for taking selfies and other photographs for social media.

Nene Raye, from New Jersey, was a recent visitor. Raye did not expect to see what she saw – and she was happy about that. "Honestly, I thought it would be, like, more of a traditional museum," she said. But instead, Raye got some of everything. "So you get a little bit of education and then some fun, which I love," she said.

Lydia Melendez made plans to visit the pizza museum in April. For her, the experience was worth the wait. "I thought it was going to be kind of boring," she said. She had imagined walking in and finding books on how to make pizza. But she was very pleased when her actual experience was different than what she had imagined.

While pizza may be what has captured the interest of crowds, the point of the Museum has been to help people exposed to fine arts world.

The Museum received over 6000 visitors during the first two months. C. Both Nene Raye and Lydia Melendez didn't expect the Museum to be so different. D. The Museum is appealing in that it combines education and fun.
(3) What's the purpose of the museum? A. To make art available to people. B. To draw attraction and earn more money. C. To change people's attitude to museums. D. To enrich city people's daily life.
