Tom's family was very wealthy. One day his father took him on a trip to the country. His father aimed to show Tom how poor people live. So they 1 several days on the farm of a family, which he considered very 2 . On their 3 from their trip, the father asked his son if he liked the trip.

We have the garden, and they have the whole horizon (地平线). We have only a small piece of land, while they have the endless fields. We buy food, but they 7 it. We have high walls for protecting our property (财产), and they don't need it, as their friends protect them."

Then the boy added: "Thank you, dad, for letting me see how poor we are."
