Years ago, my friends and I went to the Caribbean. We stayed at the Winding Bay Hotel first. The owner of the hotel, Mr Emeritus, was 1 and always ready to help others.2 days later, we were planning to3 for four days at the Cable Beach Hotel at another place. Mr Emeritus told us that he knew the owner of it. He gave us his4 and told us give it to front desk when we got there. We thought that we might receive a fruit basket or something like that , because the 5 knew each other.

6 we arrived at the Cable Beach Hotel, I gave the card to the front desk. The man 7 us up to our room. We 8 our time at the hotel. When we would leave, the man told us we only needed to 9 one phone call. I told him that he made a mistake,10 he told us that Mr Emeritus had paid for everything else. We were so 11 .

 After we returned home, we sent a 12 to Mr Emeritus and thanked him for making our 13 memorable(难忘的). For years, we kept14 Christmas cards to him, and he sent them to us, too!15 honest owner Mr Emeritus is !

Visiting Chile

 During the last summer holiday, I was lucky enough to go to Chile (智利) in South America along with some of my schoolmates. We 1 Chilean families there. We first met them when they visited our school before. While we were there, we 2 many parts of the country, including the Atacama Desert(阿塔卡马沙漠) and Chile's capital city of Santiago. 

 At first, it was a bit 3 to live in a house with a new family. But I fit in well and my Spanish 4 quickly. My trip to the Atacama Desert was an unforgettable experience. Not only did I see some incredible scenery, but I was also able to 5 some special things there. For example, I swam in Cejar Lagoon, an oasis(绿洲) . Its salty water can help you float more6 . Also, I saw wild flamingos, ate in a cafe at a height of 3, 300 meters and climbed a mountain to see cave paintings that were 7 over 4, 000 years ago. 

I don't think I will ever 8 the view that I got when I watched the sunset on top of the Purple Mountains. I also went on a trip to Santiago. It was very different9 London because the buildings in London tend to be more10 . Santiago is surrounded by mountains. I took a cable car to the top and got a great view of the whole city. 

 Betty and Carl wanted to go on a holiday. They chose a place called Maldives(马尔代夫). And they decided to 1 there for two weeks in spring, because they heard that the weather there was 2 at that time. They worked very hard for several3 . At last, they made enough money for their 4 trip. But their trip was more like a nightmare(噩梦)!

 The problem 5 when the flight (航班) was put off because of the bad weather. They couldn't 6 until night. They got on the 7 twelve hours later! But they couldn't fly to Maldives because there was a storm(暴风雨). They had to fly to another city first. There they stayed in a small hotel near the airport. 

 The hotel was next to the sea, but the sea was so8 that they couldn't swim in it. And the hotel swimming pool was 9 of leaves! The food was terrible, too. For breakfast there was 10 bread and milk! The worst part was when the storm came. They felt really11 . Because of the bad 12 , they had to stay for another night in the small hotel. And they had 13 to do. It was so boring. In the end, they 14 in Maldives three days later. And someone told them the weather was15 all the time there!
