Beijing Culture's time-travel comedy Hi,Mom,which opened the Lunar New Year holiday in distant second place behind Wanda Picture's Detective Chinatown 3, has suddenly risen to the front of the pack.

The sudden change reflects the extent to which Hi, Mom has become China's clear favorite among the Lunar New Year offerings.(write), directed by and co-starring female filmmaker Jia Ling, Hi, Mom has received the  (good) user review ratings by far of the seven films currently on release

The film stars Chinese comedy veteran Jia as a devoted daughter world is turned upside-down after her mother dies suddenly in accident. In a state of  (emotion)crisis, she finds herself mysteriously transported back to 1981, where she meets her mother(Zhang Xiaofei) and the social group of her youth. Jia's character attempts to improve her  (mother) life by using ideas from the future, but her plan repeatedly goes wrong.

Hi,Mom reflects how Jia misses her late mother Li Huanying, who encouraged her (pursue) her artistic dreams. The film  (base )on her memories of their time together. It's also (loose)adapted from I sketch comedy bit she performed on the first season of Zhejiang TV's hit variety show comedy General Mobilization in 2016.[hanks to Hi, Mom's powerful (perform) to date, Jia is already China's most commercially successful female filmmaker ever.

An exhibition titled "Symbiosis of the Chinese Zodiac (生肖)" opened at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama on Dec 19 and would run until Jan 20.

Sally Huang,  Chinese Panamanian artist and a doctor of art from Beijing Normal University, presented thirteen paintings,  combine the freehand brushstrokes of traditional Chinese paintings with the beautiful colors of Latin America, and presented the zodiac animals. Also there were some sculptures of zodiac animals  display, which wer created by Chinese artist Zhang Yong, graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

The exhibition was included in the project Painting Our Canals (运河), which  (sponsor) by the Beijing Culture and Arts Fund this year. The Beijing Culture and Arts Fund is a nonprofit fund  (found) by the Beijing Bureau of Culture and Tourism to provid support in the three major fields of stage art, cultural exchange and  (intera), and the cultivation (培养) of art talents.

The lead institution applying for the project was Beijing Normal University,  (feature) a series of events themed on the canal culture in both China and Panama, also inviting artists from both countries  (attend) the exhibitions as well as hosting academic forums.

The opening ceremony was joined by representatives (代表) from both countries, such as the Chinese ambassador to Panama and the vice-minister of culture in Panama.

The ambassador  (particular) expressed some congratulations to the artists in his speech, while emphasizing that China and Panama should work together to promote  (globe) peace and development.

"The Space-Time Painter, "written by Chinese writer Hai Ya, won the Hugo Award for Best Novelette at the 81st World Science Fiction Convention, (hold)in the city of Chengdu. It is the first time that the world's largest and longest-running sci-fi gathering – (come)to China.

Hai shared his source of (inspire)of creating the award-winning book at a press conference. "I watched program of China Media Group named National Treasure Archive and the detailed information of the painter of One Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains was introduced, interested me, "he said, adding that the painter was an (extreme) gifted young man but was never seen again in history, which is a concept that could (explore)with science-fiction. The fiction tells a story about the (politics) power struggle of the time combined diverse elements such as Chinese traditional culture, history, inference and science fiction.

Hai, also a financial worker, thinks of (he) more a sci-fi enthusiast than a writer. "I write while doing my job, so I have very little time to write every day, "he said. "But I think as long as I love it and am willing to put efforts in it, I will see hopes and the dawn. "
