A funny thing happened to me the other day. I was in a hurry to get to work and I found that my 1 wasn't working. I had to rush out of the house to 2 the bus. While I was running along the street, I noticed a 3 of about my age on the opposite side of the road. I looked at her again and I realized that we had 4 before. She arrived at the bus stop a couple of seconds after me. "She must be catching the bus, too, "I thought.

We had just missed the previous( 稍 前 的 ) bus and we had fifteen minutes to5  before the next one came. I6  the woman behind me again. I was sure that I 7  her. 

"Excuse me, have we met before? I'm 8 that I know you, "I said.

She looked a bit 9  , but she told me that her name was Angela Barker. 

"You studied history at Liverpool University, "I shouted, "from 1985 to 1988! "

"10 ! "she replied. "And you're Claire …? "

"Lewis. Well, my 11 was Lewis but I am married now. What are you doing nowadays? "I asked.

"Well, I 12 in the Central Museum in town and I've lived in this area. in George Street, for about three years, "she replied.

"You're joking! I live round the corner from there. I don't 13 it! We have been 14 for three years and we have never seen each other! "I said.

"I know, it's 15 ! "she agreed. "And I'm glad that you spoke to me because I wondered why you were looking at me all the time! "
