What is one of the best parts of travelling abroad? It's the food, of course! It can be a1experience to enjoy different foods that are prepared by locals.

I came to know this after my travel in China. Ever since I was a boy, I have always enjoyed eating Chinese food at home in America. But, to be honest, I only 2about vegetable lo meins（捞面） and spring rolls because these were commonly served in the restaurants near my home. I knew that real Chinese dishes3greatly from the ones that could be found in those places. Before I left for China, I felt worried about whether I would really end up enjoying the food or not. After all, I had never been a very brave or open-minded4and I wouldn't put anything new into my mouth.

During my first few days in Beijing, I did not5 everything that I tried. I especially disliked breakfast. One of the most common breakfast items was baozi. I found it 6that people ate so much meat for breakfast. But after these first couple of days, I7 got used to the food. And I fell in love with one of Beijing's most famous dishes — Peking duck. I especially liked the various tasty sauces and the thin, crispy （酥脆的） duck skin.

As I travelled to some other cities around China, I learned that each place had its own dishes that it8 . I enjoyed rice noodles in Guilin, xiaolongbao in Shanghai, and hot pot in Chengdu. When it was time to return home, I felt upset. I knew that I would9 the different kinds of foods throughout China.

Through my trip in China, I learned that to truly enjoy Chinese food, one must go directly to China. Yet more importantly, this trip taught me to always have an open mind to10 things.

What if you go to watch the latest movie and there is no sound？Believe it or not, there was a time when movies had no sound at all. These movies were called 1 films. And there was a master 2 was one of the most famous movie stars in history, Charlie Chaplin. 
    His first show actually happened 3 his mom. She was in the middle of a show when she lost her voice, so Charlie went out to take her place. The crowd loved and 4 him!Then he became an actor. After that, he 5 in different groups of live shows with singing and dancing soon. Although he liked per- forming, sometimes he didn' t make enough money to support 6 . So he did lots of different jobs!

Every night, in Jinan University, a group of students plays diabolo (空竹), a traditional Chinese toy. A lot of people watch it, 1 that such a simple object can show its charm and wonder.

Chen Zhelun, a Malaysian-Chinese started the diabolo club, which helps to increase the popularity of this traditional Chinese 2 . He is one of many students expressing their 3 in the country's cultural heritage (遗产) by starting clubs. The diabolo, which came from China, is 4 among Chinese living in Malaysia. But only a few Chinese students knew about it. So I started a club to 5 it, says Chen. To Chen's surprise, it has interested a huge crowd. More than 1,000 students have joined the club.

Fan Dongling, a member of Lanting Calligraphy (书法) Club, says it's a (n) 6 that young people no longer enjoy the beauty of Chinese characters. Although her club is quiet, Fan says it keeps members healthy, mentally and physically.

"Traditional things are 7 passing away with the old. Some students prefer 8 Western festivals like Christmas or Valentine's Day, but they 9 pay attention to traditional ones. "says Kong Yanquan, a student in Guangxi University. As head of the traditional Chinese local operas club, Kong plans to put modern ideas into traditional culture to get students to join his club.
