On April 1, the Xiongan New Area in Hebei Province celebrated its fourth "birthday". The area covers 1, 770 square kilometers. It's about 100 km southwest of Beijing.  

 The Xiongan New Area is the third important new area after the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone（经济特区） and the Shanghai Pudong New Area. The Xiongan New Area will help solve problems in Beijing, like traffic jams-拥堵and air pollution. For example, this year Hebei Province will speed up the building of an express line （机场快线） between Xiongan and Beijing Daxing International Airport. The express line is going to be finished by the end of 2023.  

 The building of an Internet industrial （工艺的）park and a science and technology park will also begin in Xiongan this year. What's more, the area will improve the water quality （质量） of Baiyangdian Lake, one of the largest freshwater wetlands in North China.  

 Xiongan is also called China's "city of the future". According to the 2018-2035 master plan for the Xiongan New Area, the area will develop into a modern city that is green, smart and livable （宜居的） by 2035. It will also be a place for innovation （创新）.  

Chen Gang and his son, Chen Lihao, were honored as heroes recently at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). The father and son pair reached the top of Mount Qomolangma at about 10:30 a. m. on April 30, 2022.

During their journey to the top of the world, 8,849 meters above the sea level, they carried out scientific research and collected a large number of samples of ice, snow, plants and rocks.

Chen Gang is a professor of surveying and mapping at the university. In 2020, he won the title "Good teacher in Hubei province". Chen Lihao, who is in his 20s, is a student at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He is a national first-class mountain climber and a national second-class rock climber.

Huang Xiaomei, Party secretary of the university in Wuhan, and Wang Yanxin, the school's president, called on teachers and students to learn from the father and son. They said all teachers and students should closely connect their personal futures with national needs and climb their new peaks (山峰) in scientific research and daily life.

Cheng Jun, Party secretary of another university, said, "As a scientist, Chen's successful climb of Qomolangma has great meaning for the study of the mountain."

The father said he would closely connect love with his job, go on carrying out scientific research in the areas where the country needs it and write papers about his motherland in the future.

My father didn't know how to show love. He went to work every day. He often blamed (责备) me when I had made mistakes.

Once I broke my leg, my mother held me in her arms all the way to the hospital. My father pulled the car right up to the doors of the hospital. He looked really anxious (焦急的).

When I learned to ride a bike, I asked him not to leave me alone, but he said it was time. I fell and my mother ran to pick me up, but he stopped her. I was mad and I wanted to show him that I could ride it myself.

When I went to college, my mother wrote letters to me. He just sent money and a little note about how great his garden looked now because I wasn't playing football in it. Whenever I called home, he acted as he wanted to talk but always said, "Wait, Tim. I'll get your mother. "

All my life he said, "Where are you going? What time are you coming home? "Father's love is as great as a mountain, people often say. Didn't I realize his love?
