Soap is everywhere. We use it every day and it plays an important role in our lives. It also has an amazing history. The e known soap was used in Babylon around 2800BC． Ancient Egyptians also made soap. At one time, soap-making was very dangerous. That is because lye(碱液), which was used in the process could cause chemical burns or even make people blind. Other dangerous m were also mixed with animal fats and oils. Later, soap became a in stores and people gradually s making it in their homes.

Originally, soap was not m used for cleaning. Instead, it was used as gel(凝胶) for making hair stay in place or smell good. The Arabs first made the soap that we know today. They c coloured, liquid, and hard soaps. They even had soaps which were used for shaving.

Soap became popular in the late 1800s. Advertising in Europe and the US helped people understand the connection between cleanliness and good h. Now, soap is something we wouldn't want to live without.

Sometimes, children can't keep a single bit of information in their mind while they are doing something else. If so, they may have problems with their working memory. It is an important sfor children. Here are some tto help improve children's working memory.

Read actively. They may form long-term (长时间的) memories more ewhen children take part in active reading. Active reading inot only asking notes, but also speaking aloud and asking questions about the material that they are reading.

Use visualization (形象化) skills. When reading something, ask children to imagine the scene of the story and dit. For example, ask them to set a table for a few people and have a pin their mind, and then have a description.

In April 2024, an earthquake happened in Taiwan Province. Earthquakes often happen, but many people have no  about what to do before, during and after an earthquake. To keep you safe, here is some advice.

An earthquake usually happens in a short time and can be very serious, so it is n to prepare yourself and your family for it. Make sure all family members know  to turn off gas (天然气), water and electricity. They should also know some important telephone  like 120 and 119.

During an earthquake, keeping calm is important. If you are indoors, move to a safe place in the room quickly, for example,  a strong desk or table. By doing this, you can save yourself when something  down from higher places. Remember to stay away from windows or heavy pictures. If you are cooking, turn off the gas at once. If you are outdoors, move to a clear area like a playground. Get away from buildings, bridges and trees. If you are driving,  the car as soon as possible and then just stay inside. Don't try to drive through an active earthquake.

After an earthquake, don't run out of the building at once. You'd better stay in your safe place  the shaking stops for 1 or 2 minutes. Make sure if there is anybody else around you, then help the people who are in need.
