Walsh believes the videos gained popularity because she is 75. "It's because I'm a senior," said Walsh. "You don't usually see someone my age doing hip-hop and moving like that." But actually, it's more than that. Just as her profile claims, Walsh's videos are "inspiring the world to dance like no one is watching".

"Dance isn't just your body, it's what you're feeling inside about the dance and it's what comes out here in your face," Walsh said. "What I want to put through my movement is how much fun it is and how much joy it gives you."

From a young age, Walsh loved to dance but her family didn't have the money for classes. When she was nearly 30, she got her daughter ballet lessons, which her daughter hated. So, she took her daughter out and started classes herself right away.

Walsh believes her lifelong passion for dance is what motivates her today. "Everybody has to have a passion in their life," she said. "It's like that saying, ‘A life without passion is a life half lived.' I believe that."

Walsh dances for fun and fitness, but also for therapy (心理治疗). She struggled through countless hardships, and she has more than enough reasons to keep her down. But they don't. She turns to her faith, her friends and of course, dance, to shine as an inspiration to those around her.

Gilbert, one of Walsh's followers, says she inspires him every day. "She's a beautiful soul who teaches me that it doesn't matter about your age or your size. As long as you feel good, that's all that matters," says Gilbert. "I am truly thankful that Walsh is teaching me at the age of 32 to live my life full and stop being so scared."

Wherever they began, sled races quickly became popular. The famous Cresta Run, named after the Swiss town near the base of its course, was built in 1885 using snowbanks. The first organized competition was in 1898, hosted by the first bobsled club in nearby St.Moritz (a city in Switzerland). It was then that sledding began to separate from the luge to include two new sports: bob sledding, and skeleton sledding (俯式雪橇).

Cresta Run is considered the birthplace of the skeleton, a particularly daring form of sledding. Riders lie down on the sled headfirst, then drop suddenly down an ice track. Bobsledding, meanwhile, involves teams of two to four in which the person in front controls directions and the player in back brakes when needed. It earned its name after competitors started swinging back and forth to speed up the sled.

Bobsledding initially overtook skeleton sledding in popularity, becoming one of a handful of sports played at the first Winter Games in 1924. The skeleton sledding was limited to the Cresta Run for decades because other bob runs around the world were not built for the steel skeleton sled. But in the 1970s, adjustments were made to both the skeleton and bob runs in order to include the event at future winter games.

Research reveals chatbots frequently outperform humans in empathy (同理心). A 2023 study found 80% of patients preferred chatbots' response to doctors' advice. Similarly, a 2024 experiment showed even when humans were paid to create thoughtful replies, they still fell short of ChatGPT's sympathy.

The secret to the chatbots' success lies in mistakes humans make. When humans see someone in pain, we often share personal stories ("I've struggled too") or rush to give advice ("Do this!"). While well-meaning, rushing to share opinions can minimize someone's pain, and shifting the focus to ourselves weakens hope to be heard. Chatbots, however, avoid these errors. Without personal experiences or urgency to solve problems, they focus entirely on the speaker. In a 2024 study, Microsoft's Bing Chat scored higher than humans by using a three-step method: explaining people's struggles, acknowledging and justifying how they might feel, and asking follow-up questions.

Humans can also adopt similar strategies like "looping for understanding"—repeating others' words in their own terms and checking correctness ("Do I have that right?"). Chatbots are natural loopers, and when humans learn it, they better understand others' emotions and make them feel heard. These skills extend beyond strengthening family and friend bonds: dozens of studies show managers and employers using such methods tend to have more loyal, effective, and productive employees.

Despite AI's impressive listening skills, it has limits. Chatbots repeat formulaic (公式化的) responses ("I hear you") that feel robotic over time. They can't feel or truly care for us, and studies show most human beings still want to engage with other humans. Some of the bugs of human connection are also, in fact, features. Chatbots can't roll their eyes or leave our texts unanswered. But the fact that we often must earn human empathy, and that it comes from limited beings who sacrifice (牺牲) to be there for us, is part of its beauty.

You want to learn, you want to listen to your teacher, and you want to absorb all of that information in class — but it can be hard to focus on a lecture when your mind wanders. So staying focused in class is essential for effective learning. Here are some tips to help you pay attention in class.

Remove distractions. If you want to concentrate in class, start by removing distractions. Physical removal is the best way to deal with distractions. Or if you have a habit of using your phone, keep it in your locker.

Prepare before class. Look over your homework, read your textbook, or review previous notes. This will get your brain into "class mode" and help you focus. Additionally, set up your desk or workspace before class and make sure you have everything you need.

Sit in the front of the class. Studies show that students who sit in the front generally have better grades. Avoid sitting with friends if you're not tempted to talk. Sitting in the front allows you to keep an eye on the teacher and board.

Participate in Class. Contributing to the lesson by asking and answering questions can keep you engaged. It also signals to the teacher that you're trying to pay attention. Write down important parts of the lesson and use different colors or a highlighter to make key points stand out. You can also reorganize it after class for further research.

Focus on the present moment and avoid daydreaming. If your mind wanders, refocus on the lesson. Create your own motivation by finding personal connections, interesting facts, or setting small goals. Reward yourself after completing tasks. Practice paying attention through activities like meditation. If you're struggling, talk to your teachers. They can offer personalized solutions.

Taking care of your body. Getting enough sleep is crucial. Aim for 8 to 12 hours for optimal focus. Have a healthy diet with foods like leafy greens, fatty fish, berries, and nuts. Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine and sugary drinks. Exercise can relieve tension and improve concentration. Try to be active between classes or during breaks.

After Rick Baldwin and his wife Keia Jones-Baldwin of Kernersville, got married, they came to the difficult(realize) that a biological baby wasn't in the cards for their family. For twelve years, I had worked at the hospital. One day, they informed me that I was no longer needed. I knew it was a cost-cutting measure to replace me with someone less experienced and lower-paid, yet the pain of feeling useless remained.

When I was sad and worried about my future, a fellow health educator at another hospital shared, "I've just learned the most helpful tool. No matter what the situation is, there is an opposite, a benefit. Our typical response is to focus on the losses of jobs, marriage, home, or even health. Instead, we should concentrate on finding what we gained with our loss."

At first, I resisted her advice. I was so focused on my job that I forgot my dream of traveling around the world in a trailer (拖车) and all the things I wanted to do when I was busy. I only yearned (渴望) to get my job back, missing my office, coworkers, and the routine, as well as the meaningful challenges of organizing health education classes for sick people.

Soon, we became good friends, often going shopping together and taking a walk every day.

Then one day, Lucy invited me to go to Mali, West Africa, to volunteer there. It was a poor area where people lived in mud huts without modern conveniences. However, the villagers seemed content.
